To rediscover yourself you don’t have to go very far, and sometimes the peace of a lake and the history of an ancient town like Peschiera are enough to give you a new holiday dimension.
It is a magical place with a rich history: from the Romans to the Republic of Venice, from the French empire to the Habsburgs.
The historic centre of the town – where you will live – consists of a pentagonal Venetian fortress, dating from 1550, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A true architectural jewel, with two gates and majestic bastions. Numerous buildings testify to the city’s strategic importance in the wars of past centuries.
Suffice it to say that the construction of the walled city surrounded by water even modified the natural course of the River Mincio to allow the defence of the ancient Arilica.
In fact, this was the name of the Roman city, named Arilica, of Celtic origin, which was located in the current historic centre, where you have chosen to spend your holidays.
And it is no coincidence that the excitement of a day within the historic walls will meet the attention to detail at home.
A historical centre that you can visit on foot, among canals, bridges, fortifications, small docks, boats and then return comfortably to the refined details of our residences that, as you will notice, blend in with the surrounding environment: a few steps away, in addition to the historical Voltoni and the Canale di Mezzo, you will find, for example, the Roman excavations.
These are located in the centre of the village, next to the church of San Martino.
In the preserved and protected part, you can recognise on the north side a layout of a house overlooking a paved courtyard.
The rooms have different floors: mosaic, wrought stone and cocciopesto. The internal cavity is paved.
The southern part outlines rooms whose use is difficult to define.
The part now uncovered is smaller than the original one: in 1981, a less interesting part was buried and greatly altered by subsequent works compared to the original layout.
Peschiera is also the starting point for a 43.5 km cycle path along the River Mincio, which starts at the railway viaduct in Peschiera del Garda.

The geographical position makes Peschiera easy to reach thanks to the Milan-Venice or Brenner-Modena motorway networks. Equally convenient are the train connections to the cities of art and the navigation on the lake, to explore the villages and towns. Among the best known and most picturesque villages such as “Borghetto” – whose urban layout dates back to the Longobard period and which owes its name to the language of the Germanic people who laid the foundations of a fortified settlement – you will also discover a small jewel – indeed a real protected natural oasis – that is not given too much publicity: it is another small lake, of glacial origin, with a surface area of about 80 hectares and a maximum depth of 15 metres, particularly important from a naturalistic point of view due to the variety of animal and plant species found on its shores. For this reason, in 2000 the European Union included it among the sites protected by the Community. Peschiera has two UNESCO nominations: “Prehistoric Archaeological Sites of the Alps”, in 2011, where Peschiera is considered the most important Bronze Age village of the period and then also as “Venetian Defence Works between the XVI and XVII century”, recognized as UNESCO heritage in 2017. But history blends with nature in a pleasant and relaxing cycle path (the famous E6) from Peschiera del Garda along the historical walls: only 4mt of difference in height in 28km. The amusement parks Gardaland, Sea Life, Movieland and Caneva are very close by and are well connected by several shuttles. All the towns on Lake Garda can be reached by boat from the port.”

LA NOSTRA CASA - Sono già stata in uno di questi deliziosi appartamenti nel 2019. Il nome è “Canapa”. Un caso. Conoscevo un po’ i posti ma non volevo un hotel. Volevo un appartamento ben curato, dall’ottimo arredamento interno, centrale, funzionale. Quest’anno ci sono tornata. Stesso appartamento perché è bello dopo aver visitato il lago, poter dire “torniamo a casa nostra”.
FANTASTICO - Ho prenotato l’appartamento per dei cari amici e grazie alla splendida accoglienza della proprietaria Guendalina ho fatto un' ottima figura. Appartamento confortevole , in pieno centro a Peschiera molto pulito e moderno. Sicuramente da consigliare!
TORNERO' - Appartamento stupendo, confortevole, grande e molto confortevole, tutto è curato nei minimi dettagli. C'è tutto il necessario per cucinare e apparecchiare la tavola, elettrodomestici, piatti raffinati, bicchieri per vino. L'appartamento si trova nel centro storico, intorno a ristoranti e negozi. Ad un grande supermercato a piedi circa 20-25 minuti. Anche in spiaggia.
SUPER! - Insieme alla mia famiglia, abbiamo trascorso un week end nella vicina Peschiera del Garda presso l'appartamento Canapa. Fin dal momento della prenotazione tramite il proprio sito abbiamo avuto la sensazione di aver scelto l'appartamento adeguato alle nostre esigenze. Le aspettative sono state oltremodo superate: accoglienza personalizzata dalla Sig.ra Guenda che cura ogni dettaglio, appartamento luminoso e dotato di ogni comfort in posizione centrale. Consigliatissimo! Noi certamente torneremo durante la stagione più calda.
C'E' ANCHE IL PARCHEGGIO - Avevamo affittato un monolocale molto carino. Abbiamo trovato le strutture assolutamente sufficienti. La posizione dell'appartamento è centrale, negozi, stazione degli autobus e treni facilmente raggiungibili a piedi. La padrona di casa è stata molto, molto cordiale e disponibile.
PERFETTO IN TUTTO - Appartamenti nuovissimi e veramente puliti. La proprietaria e il figlio davvero gentilissimi, durante il nostro soggiorno abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema e la proprietaria ci è venuta ad aiutare immediatamente! Infine la posizione è ottima in quanto è in pieno centro!
ECCEZIONALE - Cosa è piaciuto; Di tutti i viaggi che abbiamo fatto come coppia, questo appartamento é stato di gran lunga il luogo più pulito in assoluto. Camere moderne e accoglienti. Personale cordiale e con un entusiasmo contagioso.
POSIZIONE STRATEGICA - Ottimo per una vacanza rilassante in pieno centro storico. ma raggiungibile anche con l'automobile (parcheggiando qualche metro più avanti in tutta comodità). Camera spaziosa e pulita, perfetto l'isolamento acustico nonostante i locali mettessero la musica nel fine settimana. Staff veramente tra i più gentili mai incontrati. Caratteristica la piazza sulla quale si affaccia. Con una breve passeggiata a piedi si raggiungono tutti i principali servizi godendo di una vista panoramica del Lago di Garda veramente unica.
ESPERIENZA DA RIFARE - Posizione ottima, Kathi è stata meravigliosa nel venirci a prendere fino al parcheggio per accompagnarci alla struttura. Sia lei che Guenda si sono dimostrate disponibili sin da subito, premurandosi di farci trovare anche acqua fresca in frigo e degli snack al nostro arrivo. L'appartamento è molto pulito, praticamente nuovo, letto comodo e doccia piacevole. Pur trovandosi sopra un bar e vari locali, praticamente in pieno centro, gli infissi offrono un'insonorizzazione perfetta. Se dovessi tornare in città (Gardaland è praticamente a pochissimi chilometri, raggiungibile anche a piedi) penserò sicuramente a loro.
